Simmons
2nd Bassoon
Ryan Simmons is a
bassoonist with the San Diego Symphony, and also
principal bassoon with the San Diego Chamber Orchestra.
He has BM in Bassoon performance from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. Ryan has played in numerous orchestras including The Philadelphia Orchestra, the National Symphony,
the Jacksonville Symphony, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He has also participated in festivals including the La Jolla Summerfest, Marlboro, Verbier, and Tanglewood. He has been Adjunct Professor of Bassoon at Jacksonville University and San Diego State University.
In addition he has played on recordings for EMI, Sony, and various television and movie recordings.
